Estimates for information only. Rates are from each broker's own pricing page, checked on 30 October 2026 (F&O and MCX: 2 November 2026), for their standard plan; tap a broker to see its source link. Statutory rates: STT 0.1% on delivery (buy and sell) and 0.025% on intraday sells; stamp duty 0.015% (delivery) or 0.003% (intraday) on buys; SEBI ₹10 per crore; GST 18% on brokerage, exchange and DP charges. IPO allotments have no buy order, so no buy-side brokerage, STT or stamp duty. F&O and MCX (checked 2 November 2026): STT 0.05% of the futures sell value and 0.15% of the options sell premium; MCX CTT 0.01% (non-agri futures) and 0.05% (options premium), on the sell side; exchange charges NSE 0.00183% (futures) and 0.03553% (options premium), BSE 0 and 0.0325%, MCX 0.0021% and 0.0418%; stamp duty 0.002% (futures) or 0.003% (options) on buys. Options held to expiry and exercised, physical delivery and agri commodities are charged differently and aren't covered. STT is rounded to the rupee as on contract notes; NSE's tiny IPFT fee (₹0.01 per crore) is left out, so your contract note can differ by a few paise. Motilal Oswal, Paytm Money, Axis Direct and SBI Securities don't show their rates in a form we could read, so they're not listed: use "Other broker" with your own rates. Charges change: confirm with your broker. IPOYOGI is not a SEBI-registered intermediary and this is not investment advice.

    Brokerage calculator: questions people ask

What charges apply when I sell IPO shares on listing day?

Brokerage on the sell order, STT of 0.1% of the sell value, exchange transaction charges, the SEBI fee, 18% GST on brokerage, exchange and SEBI charges (and the DP charge), and your broker's DP charge per sell. There is no stamp duty and no buy order, because the allotment isn't a trade.

How is brokerage charged on futures and options?

Most discount brokers charge ₹20 per executed order (₹10 or ₹5 at a few), or 0.03% to 0.05% of a futures order's value if that is lower; some full-service brokers charge options per lot. Buying and selling are two orders. On top come STT (0.05% of the futures sell value, 0.15% of the options sell premium), exchange charges, the SEBI fee, stamp duty on the buy and 18% GST.

What charges apply to MCX commodity trades?

Brokerage, commodity transaction tax (0.01% of the sell value on non-agri futures, 0.05% of the sell premium on options), MCX transaction charges (0.0021% on futures, 0.0418% on options premium), the SEBI fee, stamp duty on the buy (0.002% futures, 0.003% options) and 18% GST on brokerage and exchange charges.

Do brokers charge for applying to an IPO?

Applying through UPI or ASBA is usually free. Charges start when you sell the allotted shares.

    What is the break-even move?

How much the share price has to rise per share, over your issue price, just to cover every charge on the sale.

How current are the broker rates?

Each rate comes from the broker's own pricing page for its standard plan. We recheck them every 10 days; tap a broker to see the date and source.
